El Paso-Sybil N. Duncan, 91
of El Paso, passed away at 10:38 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2011
at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at
11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral
Home in El Paso. Rev. Bob Brown will officiate. Visitation will be
held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at
Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Burial will follow
services at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso.
Memorial contributions may be made
to the El Paso Rescue Squad.
She was born January 31, 1920 in
Mt. Sterling, IL a daughter of Elmer and Daisy Newsom Moreland. She
married Matthew Peterlin in 1937. She then married Wilbur Duncan in
Peoria in 1953. He passed away in 1987.
Survivors include her children,
Gerald (Sharon) Peterlin of El Paso; Doug (Virginia) Perterlin of
Washington; Barbara (Fred) Ahten of Creve Coerr; Debra (Clay)
Jackson of Normal; Beverly (Doug) Gates of El Paso; Connie (Mike)
Maple of Clinton; and Cathy (Gary) Barnes of El Paso; sixteen
grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great
grandchild; one brother, Kenneth (Lucille) Moreland of Clever, MO;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, one brother, and four sisters.
Sybil was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Eureka.
She enjoyed gardening and
traveling. Sybil was a loving mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend who will be
greatly missed.
